Fingerprint Cookies

Because these cookies are made with jam, Mike has renamed them "breakfast cookies."

½ cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon orange extract
1 cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
Strawberry jam

Preheat oven to 325°. Blend wet and dry ingredients. Roll dough into small balls. Line up the balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Push down each ball with your thumb. Add ½ teaspoon jam into each well. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
