From: Borden Sweetened Condensed Milk
Another yummy dessert that my grandma Dottie often made.
1 (12-ounce) package butterscotch-flavored morsels
1/3 cup margarine or butter
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup chopped nuts
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 degrees for glass dish). In medium saucepan, melt morsels and margarine; stir in crumbs and nuts. Press half the mixture firmly onto bottom of a greased 13 x 9” baking pan. In large mixer bowl, beat cheese until fluffy; beat in milk, vanilla and egg. Mix well. Pour into prepared pan; top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool to room temperature; chill before cutting into bars. Refrigerate leftovers.
Yield: 24 bars.
