From: Cookies, Biscuits & Bars
2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
2 cups butter
2 egg yolks
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
8 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
1 cup walnuts or pecan, chopped
Preheat oven to 350°.
1. Grease a 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Beat together the sugar & butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla. Stir in the flour and salt.
2. Spread the dough in the prepared cake pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until lightly browned. The texture will be soft.
3. Remove from the oven and immediately place the chocolate pieces on the hot cookie base. Let it stand until the cookie softens, then spread evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle with the nuts. While still warm, cut into about 2 x ½” bars.
