One of my most favorite desserts from childhood. This is a cheesecake-in-a-hurry recipe. Very tasty!
2 cups flour
1 cup (2 sticks) margarine
3 tablespoons sugar
One 1.3 ounce packet Dream Whip prepared as box directs (1/2 cup milk + ½ tsp. vanilla)
8 oz. cream cheese
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 can (20 ounce) cherry pie filling
Mix flour, margarine & sugar in a bowl. Press onto the bottom of a 10” x 15” cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes. DO NOT let the crust brown. Set aside to cool.
Blend Dream Whip until smooth as package directs. Add and blend cream cheese and confectioners’ sugar. Spread onto cooled crust.
Drop fruit topping in little bits on top of the cream cheese mixture. Blend it in slightly (swirl) over top. Store cake in the refrigerator.
